Accidentally chipping your stone????

I have a piece of tourmaline and it was in my pillow case, I accidentally dropped it and it chipped badly, can anyone tell me if this effects the stone in anyway?? should i get a new one???

That's happened to me many times with my black tourmaline. I started out with this really large cluster of tourmaline, and ended up dropping and breaking it. So I just used the part that broke off. Then I dropped it again, and broke it, and still used the part that broke off. It depends on the size of the part that breaks off. But I don't know if I would do something like glue it back together. If that's the case, you might want to get a new one.

Black tourmaline is funny stuff. I once bought two pieces of it at a store. One I sent to a friend, and the other I kept.

My friend dropped his piece and it shattered into 5 pieces. I couldn't figure out how that could happen, so I tried to break mine... no matter what I did, my tourmaline would not break.

My friend had been having trouble with feeling negative energies around him, particular when he slept. So he put one of the broken pieces in each corner of his bedroom, and the 5th under his bed. Worked like a charm. He was able to sleep peacefully from then on.

So perhaps the message is, if your tourmaline breaks, shatters, or chips, there's a reason for it and you might try to find a way to make good use of the pieces.

Thank you Mystic Mark and Blue Tiger for responding, I have decided to just keep using the piece I have and I also did save the other small pieces that came off and will make use of them as well :)
