Just as little children need guidance, like on their first day at school, people also need guidance. That's why there are teachers, people are educated and compelled to perform certain tasks for the society in which they live. The ones with more experience should be the helpers of those with less.

The mountain is an allusion to Olympus, the journey from human existence to divine. It is also known as The Ladder of Divine Ascent or Jacob's Ladder, it is a religious motif, but it could be interpreted in different ways.

I'm speaking strictly in religious terms. The saints are trying to climb up the ladder, but those who are overcome by vices, corruption and ignorance are pulled down by wicked spirits. The truly virtuous ones are helped by angels, who sympathize with their effort, devotion, and because by living a pious life they acquire merit and become worthy of being under the protection of the Divine Providence.

So, basically, no one joins the holy community without their help, they own the mountain.

Thank you for your kind words.

Well, there's a song that says Only when he dreams does a man reach the sky. The rest is on the ground.

(I say.) I suppose I feel strongly about it since I know both ways.
Indeed, in this case faith serves as an instrument to someone who is already part of the holy community. An atheist would have to rely on his own efforts, not knowing that he could be part of a team that works for the same end.

Do you understand yourself ? Imo that's more important than others understanding you....

Yes I do most defiantly at the age of 7 I remember my first clarity from Spirit. It is more important you are right to love and understand self. Nothing is more important than having clarity about who, where, when, and the why of oneself.

I should have never posed the question is belief wrong. I was stupid. It is the question that is always posed if a monk told you this story. Because I wasn't thinking the idea of clarity was no longer the main idea.

The issue of not being understood, is I am alone. I am not complaining it is what it is. I chose this path why should I complain if this path has removed me from belief and has removed me from what other see as normal. Again, you are alone. I look at it like this my brother "I BELIEVE" that Yeshua must have felt this, every day too." That puts me into a very good class of people, doesn't it? And when I think about that I am not lonely, but I still miss talking to others. Now people will read this and say, "DO YOU THINK YOUR JESUS, because you said you feel like him?" How could I say such a thing. Even telling you that I love is misunderstood by someone. It should not be this way. It is sad. That is all it can be, I guess.

so that is at least the second time in this thread someone has decided i sleep so i can dream... lol...

without answering that question, I'll say instead, this is an aspect of the problem we face. Even a simple word like 'sleep' immediately invokes the thought 'dream'. But what happens to those who don't match conceptually? Who aren't following the normal 'formula'?

They get misunderstood, and cast out because they aren't following the program. And noone wants that... so... the result is a self-fulfilling prophecy....

multiply that by all the more complex words out there... there is all this expectation both for ourselves and for others, that the concepts we have about words must definitely apply to any words said by any one at and time, and there is very little freedom to make a break from it.

another fun thing that happened on this thread is that people saw a threat in someone I don't see any malice in, then turned and had malice toward him. Even if I DO see malice in him, wasn't there something about turning the other cheek anyway? Why are even the people who consider themselves 'nicest' so quick to turn on people they don't want to like?

Ordnael what you have Posted above really piqued my interest. I had never heard this before until I read one of my Ancestors Court Papers from the 14th Century. In His last Statement He said something along the same lines as to the reason He would not tell a lie and deny His Roman Catholic Religion before He was hung, drawn and quartered. My Married name means 'Jacobs Ladder', strange coincidence....
Thanks.....

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru
