Breathing, mind and body
Nowadays there are so many types of breathing exercices. For yoga, martial arts, enhancing athletic performance, holotropic breath, rebirthing, cardiac coherence which has been studied by science.
Is there a particular breathing exercice you like to practice ?
What is the use for incluse breath retention which is usual in yoga, and absent in cardiac coherence.
What's the best breathing practice to relax the body and still the mind ?

For meditation I use breath awareness without any breathing technique.
In sports I use some different techniques including bracing with intraabdominal pressure, and timing breaths to match the rate of exercise drills.

I use reverse breathing (Taoist) occasionally while practising Qigong. It takes a bit of practice as it's the opposite of what we normally do.

Hi,
The particular breathing exercise I practice every day also involves chakra energy work. Is that some thing which would be of interest to you?

Basically I would say, breath like a baby. (in the abdomen)
When it comes to energy work, my breath changes to what it needs to be, without me thinking about it.

Thank you all for answering.
@John
I'm indeed interested to know more about the chakra breathing exercice.

Hi,
Here is the link to it.
http://www.telepathyacademy.net/exer...win_flame.html
The naming convention I use can be confusing I suspect, however the content described gets great results for most.

John when your taking the breath upwards through your channel in the first exercise do you envision this through the middle/centre of your body?

It has been a while since I did that first exercise. I only do that last exercise at this point.
The breath focus I use is like an energetic push/pull experience. I draw the energy up from mother earth(root chakra) with the breath, I also pull the energy down from father sky(crown chaskra) with the breath. It is a process of moving energies with the breath through out the entire chakra system. Then I push those energies into my 3rd eye chakra. Each breath takes about 15 seconds for me and travels the path described in that last exercise.
I hope that this description answers your question and is helpful. Breathing with intent to drawn in energy and move it around creates the experience of doing that for me.
