Dear Burntfruit
Depends on the degree of their advancement, upon the qualities which they have acquired, and upon the imperfections from which they have still to free themselves.
As we called THIRD ORDER-IMPERFECT SPIRITS with General Characteristics.-Predominant influence of matter over spirit. Propension to
evil. Ignorance, pride, selfishness, and all the evil passions which result from these. Those who belongs to this order can attends movies, theaters and other sort of amusement specially from 103. Ninth Class - Frivolous Spirits, 105. Seventh Class-Neutral Spirits and 106. Sixth Class-Noisy and Boistero its Spirits.
We have also spirits from SECOND ORDER-GOOD SPIRITS
107. General Characteristics.-Predominance of spirit over matter; desire of excellence. Their qualities and their power for good are proportionate to the degree at which they have arrived. Some of them possess scientific knowledge, others have acquired wisdom and charity; the more advanced among them combine knowledge with moral excellence. Not being yet completely dematerialised, they preserve the traces of their corporeal existence, more or less strongly marked, according to their rank-traces which are seen either in their mode of expressing themselves, in their habits, or even, in some cases, in the characteristic eccentricities and hobbies still retained by them. But for these weaknesses and imperfections they would be able to pass into the category of spirits of the first order.
Spirits from second order their are more concern with their evolution and not with waste their "time" with frivolities.
From the SpiritĀ“s Book by Allan Kardec questions 100 till 113.

I was gonna say that with eternity to kill time in, why not be able to watch movies and tv sometimes? Sounds ok to me!

I can imagine that you could...although I wouldn't understand why😜 Especially since some people's lives are much more interesting than a movie.

Sorry if I'm not meant to revive old threads, but I haven't been active in the forum for some time, and this is something I've been thinking about also. My Nan loved her soaps, sometimes I'd watch them with her, that was my Saturday night I enjoyed, going to watch a soap or other TV show with my Nan. I'd like to think my Nan can watch her favourite shows in the spirit world. I'm wondering if they get television in the spirit world. As for movies, I really enjoy horror, thrillers, and Sci Fi. I have done since I was a child. I can't (at least not straight away) suddenly become a spirit and not being into horror and sci fi any more.

Can you watch movies in the afterlife? I am glad the thread has re-surfaced because it's intriguing. But I don't know. It might be that when someone has crossed over their interests could change to a certain extent and what they found entertaining here will have some other option there.
But I find myself hoping I can compose music in the afterlife....and watch all the colours and shapes that music makes, and the warmth and energy it could create for others. I have never been skilled at composing music here -at least not in the technical way. It feels so clumsy to write down, I don't understand the nuances of all the orchestral instruments properly, and even the "music composing" software doesn't work for me, though I do have a bash on it now and again and end up laughing at the mess I make. Yet my head and heart are constantly filled with new music I have never heard before. All I can do is whistle it and imagine the harmonies & orchestration, which I can do very well. I clearly hear the Oboe....the Cello.....the Horn....the violin....I hope when I cross over I will find a better method of creating music.
So if we can do that....(and I hope so ?)....why not watch, create a storyline, or even direct a 'soap'? Who knows?

I really hope so, and I don't see why those who enjoy composing music on Earth, will lose interest in the spirit world, and many more people will still enjoy listening to music, I believe so anyway.
I once had a dream that I met Kenny Everett, he was directing a play he had written, and said he'd always wanted to do that. Just made me think that maybe people can be as creative, if not more so, in heaven as they were on Earth.
