Do you sleep with a diffuser?
Hi,
I just wanted to know if you guys sleep with a diffuser and if you think it's safe, because I'm really scared of sleeping with a burning candle in my room (fire has never been my favorite element). Do you think there are any risks to that?

Hi corina, i never sleep with a diffuser or leave candles unattended a it is very dangerous. If you want to have some essential oils in your room you could put a few drops on your pillow so you can inhale whilst you sleep, and it is safer.

In your cold winter months, maybe you could put some oils on your radiator?

You can always make a reed diffuser instead of using an oil simmer dish. All you need is a small bottle (can be picked up at a craft store for a dollar or less), and some cheap bamboo skewers to beak into pieces. Pour a little of the oil(s) in the bottom, stick in the skewers, and let them do their thing. If you want the scent without having to us a whole bottle, add some alcohol to it. I'm not sure which kind, but probably a white grain alcohol like vodka or rum would give you greater volume, with less oils used.

I was thinking about this today. What about a hot plate? Oils when heated smoke, rather than burst into flames. A hot plate may be less than energy efficient. There may be something similar specialized with incense use.
