This is the orchid plant itself Squatch ... it has had more flowers in other years but is beautiful nonetheless ... the fungi is growing a few steps from the back door ... there is increased moss everywhere this year too ... the little butterfly let me get up nice and close ... he stayed there forever :)

Two weeks ago when it rained a lot here, the yard was speckled with little mushrooms - hadn't seen that around here before. So cool. Nice pictures, sound.

Fabby butterfly shot. I love the leaves he/she is on...so healthy-looking. Those orchids are so pretty, I'm used to seeing rounded petals on orchids so it makes a nice change to see pointed ones.

Wow, that looks like a gorgeous day Kate. What a blue sky! We've had shedloads of rain here. Hoping for a drier/sunnier June.

Love the colour of the Salvia from your previous photographs. And I particularly like the first one of the most recent post - the dark purple flower. Simply gorgeous.

Here are...

Peonies on their way - they're going to be massive when they're fully out.

An Osteospermum (I think). I used to have lots of purple ones when I lived in Kent - they smelled so scrumptious - reminded me of bubble gum!! And they flowered from May right through to September.

Harebells - sweet little things.

A rather delicately coloured tulip just about to 'go over'.

Beautiful Squatch ... nice shots! ... I want to walk in your garden ... the tulip looks like a watercolour ... the Osteospermum looks like a daisy ... I love its simplicity. I dont know why but the peonies remind me of a group of women I met over here just recently. They call themselves the Red Hats and they invited myself and another worker to dinner at a local club ...we gave a spiel on what we do and they offered to fund raise for us :) ... they were very friendly, fun-loving, flamboyant, full of goodness, and a little dishevelled after a few glasses of red haha
