Healing - has anyone used this method?

Hi (newbie)
I am really interested in healing and have been accustomed to a method of healing that is very simple but I find can be effective if done correctly.
It can be used for emotions and physical pain.
Anyhoo, would be really interested to get some feedback about it :)

Basically, whatever the pain is, lets say it is your own emotional pain,
Sit quietly for a moment (breathing in through nose, out from mouth)
Begin to breath in the pain that is being felt, then imagine a fire in your heart, and let the fire burn the feeling/pain, then exhale imagining gold light being exhaled. Do this until you feel relief/ as long as possible.

It is very simple, but this can be used for others, imagine thier broken leg, injury etc, feel it, turn it into gold.

Also, it has been said, which I strongly agree with, if you do help someone in your own way of healing, to keep this to yourself. This keeps the magic as it where.
