That's interesting I have heard about it as well it is called clairvoyant hearing or something like that. I read about it because I have actually experienced it on several occasions and did not attempt to develop it. Perhaps I have some slight natural gifts I cannot say for sure. But on several occasions after ending a projection or waking up from a lucid dream I will have this buzzing in my ear and will then start hearing whispers or talking in my left ear. It's always in my left ear for some reason which is interesting because I can also see into what I believe is the RTZ (Real Time Zone) while I am wide awake with my eyes closed. The interesting part though is I can only see it on the left side of where I am. I can see spirits moving around and I know for a fact it is not my imagination. On occasion when trying to go to sleep I see them moving in my face and one time I said "Stop it!" Boy was that odd to say the least, the second I said that the spirit got right up on my face because it knew for a fact I could see it and it was very animated. I just find it interesting my left ear hears stuff and the left side is the only side I can see spirits on with my eyes closed.

Just had an experience earlier, thought I would log it here.
Was about eight am, presenter sounded like Martin Clunes (off Men behaving badly) Not sure what the topic was exactly but Karl Marks was mentioned.
Concentrating on what was going on,it felt as if I ws stripping something, some covering off my inner ear, or perhaps tuning it somehow, also got a swirling projection, which I have never liked, a projection between body and ceiling but some force acting on it and spinning it uncontrollably
