On the other hand how can we judge whether we love Christ? We judge by our constant obedience to His commands and the witness of the Spirit within us.

"Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and then turn and tear you to pieces."

Matthew 7:6 stresses we shouldn't continue to present God’s grace to those who persistently scoff and ridicule. At some point we must shake the dust off our feet and move on to the more receptive.

‘Even as a treasure must not be shown to everyone, so with the words of the law; one must not go deeply into them, except in the presence of suitable people’

Thanks for your reply Miss Hepburn. I definitely agree with what you said.

Perspective: Yes spiritual work is individual and internal. It is we who must go to Jesus. But Jesus did say that he would return. As I said I think he is waiting for people that are undecided to make their choice. Then when he comes he will make sure that the righteous prevail.

Chrysaetos: Yes action is required. But faith is also a necessity.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.

The second coming of Jesus is to judge the world, but we know not when the Lord Jesus is coming, no, Christ told us he would come "as a thief in the night." The question then might be, what effect would this uncertainty have on us? We should "be diligent that we may be found of him... without spot and blameless."

My entire life I've believed that also, but after studying the history of the bible & realizing new meanings of scriptures & spirituality, I don't rely on it nearly as much as before. IE: Did you know in Psalms 46, the words, "Shake" & "Spear" were included in honor of William Shakespear's 46th birthday? The bible has been through a lot! And you know how stories change. There are still plenty of pearls of wisdom, but it takes a discerning mind & heart.

Chrysaetos made a good point, although I too agree that it takes both faith & action. (Everything we do is based on faith.) Waiting for a Savior to come & save us is missing Christ's message...
As I have loved you, love one another... The kingdom of God is within you (not even in an outside savior)...
To have heaven on earth, we ALL need to realize & do this... & we've got a lot of work (in faith & love) to do!

I just wanted to point out a glaring alternate interpretation from the accepted one.

So, I'll just say this is yet another angle to look at this ----John322 will appreciate this and some others...notice it says "the Lord himself will come down from heaven.."
Now, I'm not a literalist --but here is a clear case for a more Eastern view point that the Christ ---what the Christ is is a Consciousness (not a man) ---would come down from heaven...where is heaven...?

See the Conscious Awareness of the Christ would come down from within us
from Heaven.

This is a place I could insert - Jacob saw the face of God and yet survived and he called that place Penuel or Peniel ---I propose to you - He saw the face of God alright, right inside with his Third Eye, the Seat of the Soul - the pinial gland. Gen 32:30

"If thine ye be single thy whole body will be filled with light." Luke 11:36 KJV only

Why even the trumpet is a reference to Divine Music, Music of the Sheres ---that was an aspect of the Sound Current I listened to as a child and would tell my mommy - trumpets -everynight trumpets.
She said it was the wires - right.
Don't get me started on the Angels and cheribim singing eternally exactly like the Morman Tab. Choir!

This is why sometimes I wonder what is the true meaning to Jesus is coming back.
Is it both? I sure don't know - and have no ability to debate, only to show some enthusiasm as to the exciting possiblities.

In the KJV only Psalm 46 - count 46 words down and 46 words up - shake and spear to honor Shakespeare, alright.

That's awesome, Miss Hepburn! There are exciting possibilities!
The more I learn, like what you shared, the more I see symbolism & analogies in the scriptures - to be likened to us. Thanks for sharing that insight.

About the trumpets you mentioned... I believe there is a musical energetic quality to all life. One time, when I was hiking & was very meditative, it seemed like the flowers were singing - I've never experienced anything like that since, but I'll never forget it!
BTW - I've heard the Mormon Tabernacle Choir in person & it was awesome, but I was even more impressed with singing/listening to the 21,000 people in the lds conference center. Talk about "strength in numbers"! Breathtaking!

The bible has been through a lot, but I do believe that Jesus lived and that he will return. As a thief in the night, yes, but the signs will be there also which is spiritual awakening. That's just my interpretation but I think that Jesus is waiting for the right moment in our spiritual evolution, and that when we have gone from undecided to decided about our spirituality, then Jesus will return. I don't see as as a rapture though, more like a reordering of things.

True that, the Bible has been through a lot, and how many sensational claims have ever throughout history ever proved the Bible wrong? Thats right, none. I think that is why it's important for Christians to divorce their emotions when challenged, assume the Bible is true and carefully analyze each critical allegation against the Bible.
