Apology to Yogananda

Not too long ago I put up a post about how Yogananda needed to be questioned for his death. His poor diet and death at 59 years old. And how this went against certain teachings of his own and how the autopsy almost disproved of him.

Well. I would like to apologize to everyone if I shook up your faith. I now read Yogananda with a new light again. I don't take everything he says as truth but I have learned to add it to my spiritual growth.

I would like to tell everyone that I read something interesting. Yogananda supposedly staged his own death when he told his disciples and fellow monks that on a certain day he would give a speech in maha samadhi which is the highest form of communion with God while in the body at purposely exit his body through a heart attack.

Well this DID happen. And his poor diet would have been speculation from doctors of an early death who wouldn't believe in yogic powers.

Ironically after reading this, just the other night I had a dream about Yogananda.

I have no idea what he was saying. I thought he would be scolding me. Instead he was sorta smiling in his Swami outfit. And I think the message was not to become a disciple or fanatic of his teachings but to restore the Truths he proclaimed especially about Christ and his Kriya Yoga.

I can no longer say anything bad about the man when he is the only spiritual person who has ever entered my dreams except my spirit guide.

Now that is SOMETHING!

Good thing you have the courage to apologize for your mistake.
I've learned a lot from his book "Autobiography of a Yogi", and have a great opinion for him (Paramahansa Yogananda.)
IMO, before one jumps to any conclusions especially negative ones, he must make sure that he really knows what he is saying, because nothing in the world goes unaccounted for.

I like Paramahansa Yogananda, but he never resonated with me that much as did Sri-Ramana-Maharshi, and Osho, now their fantastic, but its all about what works for the individual.
