When I worked in the mental health field sometimes in group therapy patients would sing
and laugh about their disorder. It was and amazing thing to watch. Below is one of the songs
they might sing. The point was to objectify your illness and not take it personally.

BEAUTIFUL HANGUP
(Sung to the tune of Beautiful Dreamer, By Stephen Foster)

Beautiful hang-up, why should we part,
When we have lived our whole lives from the start?

We are so used to taking one course,
Oh what a shame it would be to divorce!

Beautiful hang-up, don’t go away!
Who will befriend me if you don’t stay?

Though you still make me look like a jerk,
Living without you would take so much work!
Living without you would be too much work!

GOD’S IMPROVEMENT

A little girl was sitting on her grandfather’s lap as he read her a bedtime story.

From time to time she would take her eyes off the book and reach up to touch his wrinkled cheek. She was alternately stroking her own cheek, then his again. Finally, she spoke up, “Grandpa, did God make you?”

“Yes, sweetheart,” he answered, “God made me a long time ago.

“Grandpa, did God make me too?”

“Yes, indeed, honey,” he said, “God made you just a little while ago.”

Feeling their respective faces again, she observed, “God’s getting better at it, isn’t he?”

Good one! Little children always bring so much joy to me, as do puppies.

..............but I am the one that came up with lyrics.

Just because you sung it with the rest of us doesn't mean you can own it.

And those chocolates were great; ate them all up,
as you can see they are not there anymore. I've
got another mental health parody song I can post
here called "Whine, whine, whine."
