Channeling vs Empathy

I was just wondering if Channeling is limited to just spirit beings ? i have channeled somewhat it was like i became the most loving part of the being who used to be on the earth plane. But ive also channeled and have problems with Channeling other peoples feelings, especialy those im close to, i have been taking on feelings that are not mine and sometimes have been sensorarily overloaded! lol but it does help me understand what people feel, but is that empathy ? or channeling ?

Also i would like to know what the thoughts are on Childhood trauma and Channeling, i belive in some way i had my gift as a child but as my parents split the trauma was so big i lost my own developing awareness of my gift. altho i do know at the same time the world we live in is in such a way as to not premote such things, and not many parent get a chance to see just what gift a child may have.

Basically empathy is a form of channelling but it's generally given it's own category. This is because people sense things empathetically internally rather than externally.

In regards to trauma and channelling... gifts can become dormant in children if they do suffer trauma but not always...just depends on the persons soul gifts. Empathic gifts usually don't leave a child however...they seem to remain no matter how intense things get.
