Affirmations+Oriental Magick

In my Southeast Asian culture, which is a Buddhist culture, there still exists the practice of magick and sorcery which is call "Wicha" in both Khmer & Thai. Wicha means "magick." Google "Khmer wicha" or "Thai wicha". A lot of monks are wicha masters.

I study wicha, or practice it. Besides that - being that my family is mostly ethnic Han Chinese - I was initiated into a Taoist Sorcery lineage about a year ago. Taoist Sorcery is also called "Chinese Witchcraft" by some people.

Both wicha and Taoist Sorcery share something very important in common: Charging your intention with "chi" or "magical force."

When practicing both wicha and Taoist Sorcery, I noticed that parts of it, the actual charging your intention part, which uses chants, resembles the repetition of affirmations done in Western society.

So, I figured I'd try an experiment - based on the principles behind wicha and Taoist Sorcery - to replace the kata [wicha chants] and Taoist Sorcery Heat-Spell chants, with affirmations in English, as a powerful way to program your subconscious mind to get better results. Based on my experience with this experiment, I've found that it works great! It doesn't matter what you chant or what language. The chant or affirmation creates a field of intention, and you charge that field with your chi [magical force].

If you guys want to try, I'll show you how. The procedure is simple. You will need to obtain Buddha prayer beads, which are called "Mala beads" sometimes, and a Buddha bead bracelet. They look like this:

When you begin learning wicha, your teacher will tell you to get Buddha prayer beads, because you have to meditate and chant your katas about 108 times at least to charge your intentions.

In Taoist Sorcery, your sifu tells you to get prayer beads also, as well as a beaded necklace, because in Taoist Sorcery, you have to chant your Heart-Spell over 2000 times to fully charge your intentions with chi [psychic energy].

The functioning principle behind why you need energy is universal: all things in this universe requires energy of some type to causally [cause & effect] to manifest and materialize. For example: we need food to have the energy to move, a car needs fuel, fire needs wood, chemical reactions needs a catalyst. And so, energy is a needed variable in the equation of causation. Energy is the catalyst that energizes your intentions and via Causation: makes them real [materializes them].

The procedure is simple:

1. You need to be sitting down in a comfortable position, because you will be seated for a while.
2. You hold the mala bead necklace in our right hand.
3. The beaded bracelet is held in your left hand.
4. Pick an affirmation [in whatever language] that you are working on. This affirmation will be your "kata" or magical chant.
5. Bring your awareness down into your Heart-Center, as we call it in Taoist Sorcery. Your Heart-Center is your Heart Chakra in Brahminical tradition. It is rooted in your sternum, and is the center from which Chi is made and radiates.
6. With your mind "seated" in your Heart-Center, you say your affirmation, out loud, in a whisper, or below your breath. You need breath, because Chi is closely associated with Breath. Your breath helps charge your field of intention.
7. Each time you finish saying your affirmation, move your mala bead necklace in your finger by 1 bead. This is called one "rep."
8. Usually, there are 108 beads in a Buddha prayer bead necklace. Chant your affirmation for all 108 beads. This is called a "cycle."
9. For each cycle you complete, move your bracelet by 1 bead. In a regular Buddha bead bracelet, there are usually 19 or 20 beads. And so, you will be saying your affirmations 108 multiplied by 19 or 20 times. Which is around 2000 reps.
10. For me, after a while, my eyelids will get heavy, so I'll close them. This is fine, but endangers your wakefulness. In the beginning, when I was practicing my katas, I'd close my eyes, and then get so drowsy, I forget what I was supposed to be chanting! You have to keep chanting out loud if your eyes close, as a means to help keep your mind awake.
11. There will come a point in time - especially in the beginning of your practice - where your mind will enter into these very rapid "cat naps" which last from a millisecond up to a few second. In these rapid cat naps, your mind will have quick dreams. This is a sign that you're going into trance. Don't allow your mind to be captivated by what you see or hear. In Buddhist mythos, this is Mara. Remember when the Buddha was trying to go into deep Samadhi under the Bo Tree, the demon Mara came to try to thwart him by trying to entice the Buddha with illusions? Try to stay focused on your affirmation chanting, and don't pay any mind to the dreams you might get in those cat naps.
12. If you ever make it past the cat nap stage - hypnagogia - and you are able to stay alert enough with the help of your chanting, you will enter a very weird state of mind [trance/samadhi] which is the ideal and coveted "place" to perform magic/sorcery. It's in this shamanic trance that your affirmations or katas have the most magical effect on your intentions. It's also the state of mind where you can communicate with spirits, and per the Buddha, it's also the state of mind where you can develop psychic/paranormal abilities.

That's it. It works for me. If you try it, it'll work for you too.
