That's a great blessing Forevergirl!

In the 70's and early 80's, my brothers and I would help out checking coats at my aunt's restaurant called Flying Tigers in NYC. Some of the tips were unreal. I would occassionally get $50 or $100 bills which I would promptly give to my dad, the head waiter. The tips are then divided evenly among all the waiters and waitresses. My dad said that I was either very cute or the patrons were too drunk to count their money. I think they just felt sorry that we had to work istead of playing at home.

At that time we were very poor but money followed me wherever I went or the other way around. It's not uncommon for me to find dollar bills, or even $5 or $20 bills on the streets of NYC and its suburbs. Nowadays we spot single dollars, quarters, purses, and backpacks in or out of stores. We make frequent trips to the customer service to turn in the items.

We were on vacation last week. The shuttle driver on our return trip to the airport was so genuinely friendly and sincere that my husband and I simultaneosly decided to give him a large tip.

I have been at the receiving end of many good wills and whenever I can, I give back.

Lynn, what you say is so true. I think I need to make a point to thank people more for the work that they do that have touched my life and others.

I really want to thank each of you for posting.

I have always been generous doing what he did for me, in fact, that is my "dream" career-to have money to help anyone with a problem they might be going through...I already have a name picked out-Second Chance Angels..maybe someday it will happen.

I plan on donating half to the homeless shelter and split the rest with my co-workers. I still hope someday my "angel" comes around so I can thank him face to face.

I am shocked. I have no idea what this is all about or how to ever thank him-I never saw him before. I don't know what to think.

Anyone pick anything upon him-all I remember is a green Honda Civic car and he was way younger than me, like maybe 20-22

I occasionally get tips but this is overboard.

Thanks everyone!

That is nothing but beautiful. I fantasize about doing things like this. Thanks for sharing the story, its a heartwarming kind of one to me.

Update!

Saturday went to check my mailbox and there was a crumpled $20 bill just laying in the road.

I said to my friend who was visiting it is like money is falling from the sky.

I couldn't believe it so I gave half to her.

Your story is awesome forevergirl!!

It makes me think back to when i was living alone, far away from family, going to university, and i was waiting for the bus downtown, when a man sat down beside me and started talking.

I didn't think anything of it, but when he went to leave he wanted me to take some money, no strings. He was being very nice and just trying to do something nice for a student, but i refused his kindness(politely). He insisted that he wanted to do this for me, but again, i refused.

I felt i couldn't take it, and now i realize that i denied him the chance to do this act of kindness and i should have accepted it graciously and paid it forward. I love giving but receiving has always been an issue for me... but i am working on it. Thanks for the reminder.

:) reminds me of the time..... so many times of people coming to me with money, when I was little I gave most of my money to help pay for others lunch after I got mine, and I'd share when we didn't have enough for them. Ppl at the arcade down the shore would give me these big coin things, which has led me to now get what I want (usually one thing), then give the rest to a little kid. For Christmas 7 years ago a lady in walmart gave us a hundred dollar bill in an envelop, we never saw her again. ..
I recall two years ago going down the streets every week of ppl I didn't know a leaving a flower or two for them, towards the end of the summer, one of the ppl saw me and she gave me some cookies to bring home :) it was quite fun to do all summer
