Ritual Focused Pagans

Many Pagan focused beliefs have ritual magic systems that coincide along with them, although not all go in to this aspect of the spectrum. I was wondering who all here studies a form of ritual magic?

I'm studying Shamanism currently, which involves some ritual journeying and dancing. Not as elaborate as some forms of magic I am sure.

It can be fairly elaborate if you wish to make it that way, you can add in herbal mixtures or certain types of stones to enhance the dance. Its all to help generate the trance state. Have you found your animal guardians yet?

My reincarnational lineage dates back to the days of Avalon and before, thus I am well acquainted with ritualistic magic, but in this lifetime I have a slightly different take on the subject. I am of the belief that all magic is accomplished by means of focusing one's energy and intent. That is one of if not THE main benefit(s) of utilizing ritual... it gives you a tool by which to bring razor sharp focus to the energy you wish to project to accomplish your spell. Once a person becomes aware of this, it is individual choice whether to use ritual or not. Some enjoy it and use it for that purpose, all the while knowing it is not essential to achieving the desired results. Others choose a more simple and direct projection. Both work. It's merely a matter of individual choice

Exactly LightFilled, many people view a separation between ki and magic, when really it all delves into the same territories. Ritual is just a system in which to employ energy in a certain way for a certain purpose, or one could do direct energy manipulation.

Yes, this is a great explanation!

I am glad to have come across this thread. It is interesting to read that there are others who use ritual in reference to working with energy.

Ritual shapes the conduit between the energy source [ Mother Earth ] and the Will/Intent of the practitioner
