Guided meditation, spirit guides question

I tried a guided meditation to meet my guide. It was alot of visualising in great detail (somewhat uncomfortable due to the degree of focus needed in that meditation and the length of it).

What i met was a dog-jackal like creature standing on its hind legs. It was about the height of a man, with a black head and the rest of it was brown if my memory serves. From where its arms would be, there were two large wings, which were just hanging, not folded or anything and covered most of the body down to the lower parts of its legs.

The "wings" were winged shape, but covered in the same brown fur, and had large black feathers growing pretty sparsely. Not sure about a tail, but its presence was sort of... like a regal acknowledgement that i was there, it was silent the whole of what seemed like five minutes before leaving. I was sure a name popped up into my head, but i just cant recall it. About 2-3 syllables, egyptian-arabic ish sounding if i remember.

The question is, was it my imagination or do guides come in such bizzare forms? I have never seen anything like it anywhere else in my life, dreams or otherwise and it has not appeared to me at all since. How do i contact it again, aside from following that guided meditation. I've deleted the file and have no idea which one it is anymore.

Hi,

It is interesting how helpful energies can present them self to us. That presence can easily represent itself in weird ways to us. Glean what you can from the experience itself. It may well represent aspects of self that could be frightening to you.

The energy of your intent will allow you to contact it again. That last way was your first way but most likely it is not the best way. Use your inclinations and your imagination/intuition on how the next time would most likely happen for you. Then make the effort to allow it to happen.

I am thinking of meditating with the image of that "creature", as its pretty much all i have to work with.
