A question I have, Moondance, is what exactly makes the cogitation state "unnatural" as compared to the Natural State?
If it is indeed a way of thinking that we have that arises without purposefully willing it, it also seems quite natural.
Though, I like how you name and categorize your two modes.

I wouldn’t use the word 'unnatural'. In the widest sense, there is no such thing as unnatural.
The natural state simply means the original, innate, uncontrived state. It is sometimes referred to as original nature or the pure state (of course these words can also be problematic.)
It’s the condition prior to the dominance of unnecessary (and largely unconscious) cogitation which distorts our perceptions and veils us from the obviousness of Life presenting as it is.
