Thank you Gem, Rah Nam, and others for your sharing. I can identify very much with what you have said Gem, as I do the same. I can also relate to what Rah Nam has said about rising vibrations.

There are people who find peace boring and these people often get an adrenaline rush from excitement; the greater the excitement the greater the rush. I saw this when I was in Vietnam during that war. But we can also become excited about peace.

There was a young English woman who was raped and murdered while doing charity work in Africa. Those who did this crime were caught and bought to trial. The woman’s mom and dad came to the trial and they forgave the people who raped and killed their daughter.

They were not seeking revenge, justice, or any kind of retribution. Yes, “forgive them for they know not what they do.” But will forgiveness alone wake a person up to an understanding that what I do to you I do to myself? An understanding that they are us and we are them.

After thought: We forgive for our sake and not theirs.

Big John, in my opinion the warning was a threat, and violence often begins as a threat. Sometimes the threat is carried out and at other times it is not carried out. But there is also violence without warning. I think that the threat of violence is given to justify the violence or to terrorize those who are being threatened. Today threats are taken more seriously then they may have been in the past. A person can be arrested by the police, in most places, for communicating a threat to someone else.

Violence in general is bad .While we can find lot of problems in today's politics / economics /psychology /spirituality , I find following things responsible for such violence
1. Lack of right education to right people
2. Hateful speeches and inspiration is some places of worships
3. Inertia / passivity and thereby resultant lack of unity among so-call good , liberal
4. Out-of-proportion freedom and equality aspirations leading corrosion of social fabric.
5. Lack of other faith knowledge and unwillingness to accept inter-faith people
6.Weakened family institution and parental controls with excessive exposure to sex and violence

So if sincere efforts are made to remove the causes , the malady of violence can be cured.

Yes you are right Starman we do not have the amount of crimes, like what’s just happened in Sydney very often, compared to the States and Europe so it prompted me to google how many homicides per year we have here in Western Australia. Last year we had 95 homicides, so not too bad.

Yes it also depresses me when I see all this violence in this world that’s why I dont watch TV or read the news anymore cos I just can’t cope with it. I don’t socialise much either because I don’t want to be around people who talk about it as well.

Maybe the media are mostly to blame as they are constantly focusing on all this violence and pushing it in our faces and very little is posted about the good things that are happening in the world. And I really believe that their are many many wonderful people out there doing amazing things but they are just not in the news.

For me personally I feel that all I can do is send out love, light and peace to the world, which I do every night and just hope that helps in some way.

I have read recently that the solar flares are coming “thick and fast” this year and they will have a great impact on us, that is, if you have a negative mind set then it will be exaggerated but if you have a positive/loving mind set, then that will be also be exaggerated.

Let’s hope that there are more people with a positive/loving mind set out there than the negative ones.

Thank you HITESH SHAH and Redchic12, I agree about the media which 24/7 recycles the same negative stories over and over again, and while I am interested at what is going on in this world I don’t watch the so-called news that much, because as you have said Redchic12, they are not covering the complete story about the good which people are doing.

I feel like I contribute to the violence when I give it my attention and bring it into my mind, talk too much about it, etc. Violence begins in the mind and with divisive hate speech. People don‘t know what they are doing with their thoughts and their speech. All I can do is nurture peace within myself and let that spread outward touching others. This is the role I now play while here on this Earth.

Peace and Good Journey to All.

All is well, even in our darkest hour all is well. Don’t let go of hope, even though things may seem dark and dismal, that sacred divinity is always with us. We don’t always get what we want and sometimes we even lose what we had; what we cherished; still divine unconditional love flourishes within us; that which is at our core basks in unfathomable love and wisdom. Trust the process of life. All is well.

Namaste

The Shaolin Temple is not free grounds. You follow the rules and respect the ways if you are welcomed in. Like your house, it's a closed space allowable only by invitation or consent. Like you, your boundary is the sanctuary where "no" means no (and different relationships allow different acceptable treatment).

Most people respect boundaries and want to know where they stand, so they like someone who 'draws the line'. Only people trying to worm around will complain if you say 'that's not on'. Your children love and respect you much more when you set clear, consistent boundaries, and so will everyone else.

When you're a grown up, you need to know the ropes or the boundaries you set will be unreasonable. You'll then go about "Treating others like you want them to treat you," imposing what you want without their permission. The counter-rule, "Don't treat others the way you don't want to be treated," is a better rule of thumb.

If it's "no" and you really mean it, but another person(s) violates their level of consent, you might have to be violent in rare circumstances. You may not win, but they will still know where you draw the line.

Self-respect and integrity is what it is.

Hi Starman. I agree. I think what has contributed greatly to this is the power of social media. Cheap one-liners are more powerful than elaborate, nuanced explanations of things that happen. Who thrive in such a climate? And it's not just violence against other people, but also animals and the environment. How much land is destroyed and wasted worldwide because of food and drinks none of us actually need for healthy living? As long as we are (very) violent towards other people, animals and the environment we get a response back. A cycle of violence. You can see fire is fought with fire, and only the one that can make the biggest fire can eventually stop the conflict. This is how it often goes, and how sad is that?

I agree Starman.

My way of helping is to use one meditation a day where i ask that the divine light fill and surround me with love and light. After visualising this for awhile I ask that this love and light benefit myself and everyone that I come in contact with.

The results are truly surprising.

Only a small thing but it’s all I can do to contribute.
