Red face Yoga for beginners!

I am probably the most NON-FLEXIBLE person you will ever meet. If only I could just touch my toes for once in my life that would be terrific! haha
I have looked up some yoga sessions and on what I should do but maybe someone out there can help me on what is the BEST thing for me to do as a beginner.

I am just wanting some insight since I really am not flexible. I would hate to jump into a hardcore yoga class. Hopefully someone was like me and got through it to tell me the way of flexibility

If that is not the case, please do give your opinion

Yoga is essentially a mix of, or yoga can be divided into:
*Isometric exercises (contract the muscle and hold it)
*Stretching exercises (stretch the muscle and hold it)
*Balance exercises (assume a difficult to hold pose and try to hold it)
Though there's other aspects to it, but these are the basic and most important three.

For myself I'm making an exercise "plan", sort of. That includes these three separately, more or less. Also includes running barefoot and heavier lifting, and those three above with extra weights.
