Despite what you have heard, what you have been told, God exists as God and you exist as you!

Oh Shivani, wish you were still here. This was said so well.
I have a friend that is now an agnostic/atheist ---unbelievable after yrs of knowing her.
She often would say, ''But we are all God, I am God."
I said, "Well, when you create and maintain even one galaxy, get back to me...I may say, you are God...until then, na-uh."
She read ONE book by Jed McKenna, now questions if there even IS a God.
Gawd!
But, must say ---if she drove to Disney World, saw a sign, "Disney World Left"
She'd turn around and go back..so I can't expect much.

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru.

Hi-Ho Charly - great response!
Reminded me of the 'Empty Chair Technique' used in Gestalt Therapy, often utilized to 'converse' with different aspects of one's personality, even one's 'past' or 'future' self.

Also reminded me of Neale Donald Walsh's most excellent 'Conversations With God' series of books.
WOOHOO!

Thanks!!
Yes I have read the Conversations With God books. I enjoyed them very much.
Another interesting book is The Trial Of The Man Who Said He Was God by Douglas Harding.

I personally believe that all gods are part of the Great Spirit, and that the Great Spirit comprises every living and non-living thing that ever was, is now, or ever will be. Including us :) I would say we are little sparks of God learning to be bigger Gods.
I call the Great Spirit Mother or Father, often interchangeably. I know it doesn't really have a fixed gender, it's just words I use. Sometimes I refer to it as "The One" or "The Creator." Sometimes I address it as "Abba," which means Father.
When I use "Abba" or "Father/Mother" it sends a rush of shining love and reassurance and comfort, as if to convey that it enjoys that role, and my acceptance of it in that role.
I think it can be individual for everybody. You don't have to call it one thing or another! Use whatever makes you comfortable, because God will know what you mean anyway.

Yes. I sometimes call God the Comforter.

BirbWhisperer,
Oddly enough I just used this on the thread of Filling the Void in the General Beliefs section. I was speaking of ‘mama’ as a metaphor for God.

By the way, I only introduced the concept of tzimtzum as a possibility to consider. I would never be so brazen to present it as ‘the’ truth. Simply presented for contemplation…..as are any interpretation that I offer of a particular song…..
