About to start Reiki I
Hi everyone
Just wanted to share that I am starting my Reiki level 1 with attunement, so excited.
Does anyone have any tips on level 1, what to expect how did you feel, any changes within etc?
Thank you

Hi Prettypolly
relax and enjoy yourself, and be kind to yourself.
you may feel tired after the attunement or you may feel energised.
Just go with the flow.
Have fun :))

Also make sure you have a good practitioner, I went on one of these 1 day courses and came out knowing Usui's history, I knew a new hypnotherapy technique I could use down the pub with my mates for a bit of a laugh but had no hands on experience / didn't know any of the meditation techniques to aid with reiki and was pretty lost!
Thankfully I was introduced to a practitioner and just done one of his meditation courses - had great energy, passion about what he does and he teaches reiki over an 8 week period with on going support - he builds up his students gradually and the quality of his work is awesome..
I booked my reiki 2 with him and he's offered me a refresher on my reiki 1 at a knocked down price..
there are so many "masters" out there doing these 1 day courses, some might be good but I'd look for someone who is willing to invest in their students, has experience and a passion for what they do.. most of all has a good energy!
Good luck with your reiki journey xx

My Reiki 1, I felt at the time, was somewhat incomplete but I don't think there can be such a thing. Your attunement is your attunement and it cannot be denied.
As for Reiki 2, I've waited somewhat to go for it. I've been working heavily on myself and also I wanted to be really careful about choosing who would be my tutor for Reiki 2. The lady chosen for mine is someone whom I've received reiki and other healing from. And as I climb up the Reiki ladder (so to speak) the person is very very important to me, from a simple matter of protecting my own energies in the process. But, I may be overstating it.
Congratulations to prettypolly, let us know how you get on!

Over the weekend I did my first part of my reiki 1 refresher - and the experience was awesome! Can't wait to go back next week and finish off the level 1..
In comparrison to my first reiki 1 attunement and training about a year ago, I feel I've got more from this one already and I'm only half way through! I have the confidence and grounding in the practice..
Also because the reiki master I now work with has been trained in both westernised and traditional japanese usui reiki I now understand why there are so many descrepancies with things like the history of Usui and reiki in general - it's been very eye openning!
The main point here is that you will get what you put in with reiki, if you go to one of these tacky 1 day attunements then don't expect to have a solid foundation in the practice.. I learnt this the hard way :) but as always everything in life is a lesson and I now feel a lot of passion for reiki and developing my practice..
Roll on October for reiki 2 :) xxx

So true free spirit,
I did an intensive 2 day Reiki course for 1 and 2 and came away feeling somewhat bemused.....ive been healing all my adult life anyway and Reiki seemed like an interesting progression, although i felt a bit pressured to go into it by my master as she kept saying i would make an awesome healer....looking back now, i feel she was just pushing her course on me and i regret not going with my gut and finding someone who would inspire me more than she did.
Its so important to find the right teacher, sadly i feel Reiki is becoming very money orientated these days and some of the courses are extortionate!
I guess im getting skeptical in my old age as so many courses are needing to be " Certificated" and many of these certificated courses appear to cost an arm and two legs!
Sorry to rant and go off topic a tad, so.........find a good teacher, one who inspires you and one you feel a connection with and above all....ENJOY

When I did my first level I was a heavy drinker and by the end I had stopped drinking to excess, and found my life had found new perpose. Now I find if I do not work with reiki there is a whole in my life. So yes reiki can alter your life. love and light to you

I did Reiki 1 and during my attunement I felt a cold wind blowing through my thoat chakra, very weird.
Now I often use reiki to heal myself, and for my children, pets and plants.

During my Reiki 1 attunement my palms were very warm and tingling. I also saw (in my minds eye) and felt alot of energy and color. The evening of the attunement I felt very "dreamy & content".
