Malice like malaria
Invades the organism
And it dies

Love like flowers
Grows toward the light
And it lives

Resuscitating
the old dormant haiku thread
to add my own lines.
Long harrowing day
at craft fair, buying fabric
tired, sleepy now.

Sparkles in the frost
Make nature look magiical
Like a fairy tale.

I never knew any of this!
What are the rules for structuring a haiku?- There are no more than 17 syllables.
- Haiku is composed of only 3 lines.
- Typically, every first line of Haiku has 5 syllables, the second line has 7 syllables, and the third has 5 syllables.
- It includes a kigo, a seasonal reference.
Nor this!: it has to have a 'cutting word' ---What?
I had no idea there were so many Rules!
I'm actually stunned - I just thought they were sweet little 3 line poems, period. But, no! Sorry maybe all this is explained on Page 1.
If so, I'm posting it again.
Respect for those posting them here!

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru.

Miss H, if you find Haiku challenging, then try the Than-Bauk poetry form! Three lines, only 4 syllables per line and … last syllable of first line, third syllable of second line and second syllable of third line must rhyme. I have a thread on it in this poetry section.

Skies aglow at dusk
Announce clouds of desert sands
Crossing the oceans.

I went walking around
Someone said run so I did
Why I will never know

I had this dream see
I was nothing but a shadow
In my dream of me

The Poet's return
Exploding Supernovas
In the dark skies.
