Sitting in the Silence

Sitting in the silence
Not knowing what to say
Sitting in the silence
Sometimes it's just better this way

Words can only say so much
At times they say too little
At time they say not enough
Sometimes silence is the only way
To say what you really want to say

In silent meditation
You wait for your thoughts to go away
And if these thoughts decide to stay
You sit in silent meditation, anyway

And if your thoughts are questions
And if they went away
What happens to the answers to these questions ?
Do the answers stay ?

Sitting in the silence
Not knowing what to say
Sitting in the silence
Sometimes it's just better this way

And sometimes it is not ~

There are times when I have questions
There are times I want my answers right away
There are times I just want to talk
Even if I can’t find the right words to say

There are times I want you to listen
There are times I need to hear your reply
There are times that I have questions
And there are times I need to know the reasons why

So if you hear my silence
Speaking softly in whispers to you
Please take the time to listen
And whisper softly back to me

Sitting in the silence
Not knowing what to say
