So we agree on the points we seem to be arguing about ?No cow cull and no fake meat-that's grand cos' we already have about a million varieties of different foods we don't need.Maybe it would be best concentrating on getting rid of those first, having a clear out before burdening people with any more.

We just work with its building blocks, today in a more advanced way than yesterday. But yesterday we did it too!

Next to that we have tooth implants, pacemakers, and other tech to aid our bodies.

What are the old ways? Where does one draw that line and consider things to be the desired stalemate? Because there is always change..

Yes, I am an essentialist.

I own the term "basic b*tch"

Everything changes. The domesticated animals and plants we have, we select(ed) them for specific criteria. Today with advanced tech we can select at a detailed level. There is really nothing weird about it. We're just using the building blocks of nature, biology = chemistry.

We may get attached to how things ''are supposed to be'', such as ''milk'' coming from cows and goats. But go back in time and there are no such domesticated species around but wild, unflattering bovids. So no belief in cow herding deities etc. And no poodles and golden bananas either.

Twaddle! Proper science stick with tried and tested systems,we have more than enough knowledge to survive on,you carry on wishing and moaning for more and more daft novelties that cause suffering but make big bucks-Lab meat wont mean cows suffer less people will carry on farming wrongly and then selling solutions to problems they have caused.

If it is safe and reduces suffering for all sentient beings, that is what would be important to me...

I'm not sure if I would eat it because it's not natural. But on the other hand I'd love the fact no animals would die to make it. I just don't know. There's a lot about processed food and it's effects that we don't yet know.
