Letting go of 'Father God' and becoming ones own God

Is this what is required of us? Is this the logical conclusion to our condition? Is this the step one must take to achieve adulthood and peace?

What are your thoughts?

Is there a necessary step that we all need to take in order to let go of the Father Figure God and ultimately become our own God and masters of our own destiny?

Wow! A big step to take indeed if that is true. Makes me nervous just thinking about it.

What comes to mind:

Proverbs 14:12 & Proverbs 16:25

There is a path that is straight before a person,
but in the end it is the path of death.

Hello Shim,

Can you let us know what the proverbs say? Why is it the path of death. Explain, please.

Christ was of course a master of His own destiny. He was a spiritual adult who accepted his own responsibility. I was not taking about taking God's supremacy away from Him, but rather about the acceptance of oneself as an EQUAL *part* of God.

I was talking about the acceptance of ones role as a spiritual adult part of God.

We don't need to become anything we are that already, "Jesus said I of myself can do nothing", everything that Jesus supposedly did was through the Father. While we still believe that we are this mind body organism we miss out on the kingdom of God working through us, we go though life working by the sweat of our brow, as soon as we Realize our true Self, the Son of God, we then are under the grace of God, life then is aloud to flow, our yoke then is easy.

Do you mean that you do not think it is a good idea to be ones own God? even if you love and respect the whole God at the same time?

That question was directed at shim....not Psycholslice.

Had having read your previous thread, it appears Honza you have carried over the question. Please excuse me if mistaken, however, the proverb suggest that we constantly question and evaluate our life path. The proverb deals with perception vs. reality. Any other interpretations will be appreciated.

We can't become our own God, there is only one God, we allow our true Nature to shine from within, there isn't a God out there to respect.

In the sense that the Father God and ones own God becomes one and the same? I guess that would be true!

This is saying that when we as the mind body or ego try on our own, will always end in death, that is death of our true Self, God within or the Son of God which we all are.

However my point was, that one needs to LET GO of believing in a Father God as a divine parent who looks after you, and become a God in ones own right and start to look after yourself.
