When I was in a preganancy-labor prep class - they told us to think of a favorite place, to help manage pain. I think this is also helpful in meditation. Imagining or planning a vacation is almost as fun as going on one! My sister made a mental vacation book for me - filled with beautiful pictures from -

Carrabean cruise & island excursions, jet skiing, sunbathing on the beach...
Mountain vacations - horseback riding, hiking to beautiful vistas...
European vacations - full of historical sites & beautiful art & architecture...
Service trips - full of opportunities to give of time, money & love to others...
My favorite soothing mental vacation is relaxing on a boat in the middle of a mountain lake.
