Above posts remind me of a few things
- After enlightenment ? .... chop wood , carry water (same as before, and uh-oh, here comes the music "same as it ever was .... same as it ever was " )
- one of my new schticks : the ordinary becomes exalted (and exaltation becomes ordinary)
- Folly , from the Carlos Castaneda books . Life as folly, but a conscious life as controlled folly
- In a (big) way ,
Life, The Universe, and Everything (obvious tip of the hat to Douglas Adams , atheist, absurdist, (best-selling) author) is fundamentally a very absurd affair , and if you can't laugh at yourself , you have no sense of humor , and might as well be a toad .
I mean, in a similar way, nothing that happens on Earth matters in a cosmic sense . If , say, the planet was suddenly destroyed
( to make way for a hyperspace bypass ? ) , would the Universe at large really care, or even notice , given it's size and innumerable solar systems , and , logically, abundance of biological life ?
So that kind of makes us look pretty silly (in a way) for taking ourselves as seriously as we sometimes do. I consider this rather humble outlook on people and myself as a refined , highly-evolved (or at least honest and capable of seeing the obvious) outlook , and if one of the most significant
things I can understand is that I am insignificant , then it looks like the cosmic joke is on me , and I'd better get in on the laugh sooner rather than later .
