What if everything you wanted was one step away...

This is an open letter to humanity. It is not directed at you lovely Spiritual Forum goers, as much as it is people in general, and probably subconsciously to myself in some sense as well.

The co-worker who always complains. Your mother or father or daughter or son or sister or brother or friend who always seem to know how to push your buttons just the wrong way.

Meanwhile... kids playing and laughing, having fun on the lawn in the sprinkler. Birds chirping and flying by graceful and free.

When you go for a jog, do aerobics or yoga in the morning; it is there.

When you stand in line at the supermarket, patiently waiting your turn to get to the til... there it is.

You cannot get away from it. You cannot get it.

"Don't you get it?" Is a question i've been asked before.

There is nothing to get.

In your bed at night, right before you fall asleep, thinking about your bills and financial situation. Worrying about a friend, or relative. There it is.

Everything you ever wanted, is right here, right now.

There is no need to want anything, in which case, you have it all already, only you do not realize it.

Bear witness.

Exactly. You don't need to. You already do. The question is, do you have the courage to reach out and see? To pull back the shades, and see the sun illuminate it all?

Vulnerability is a strong weakness. The wound that heals. There ain't no cure for Love. Try and get around that one, and while i wish you luck, i also know your efforts are in vain. I know from experience. I really gave it my all on many many occasions; i am a stubborn nut to crack, but to no avail. All i got was doggy lick kisses in my face.

That's alright though, you'll come around. Unfortunately, (or thankfully)- there is no way around that.

I feel in my heart we are in for some turbulent, challenging times on the road ahead of us. Ahead of us, not as in the future, but as in the path or pavement at our very feet or tires this very moment.

Will we rise to the occasion?

I don't know. I guess that depends on you. And me. We can make it, if we want to. Do you believe that? Do you think the world can stand as it is? Look around, it's falling apart at the seams as we speak, or so it would seem...

So what are you made of, really?

Can't do it? Have your doubts?

Wrong again. Let me ask you once more. We can do this for as long as it takes, i have all day.

But while your waiting to make up your decision, allow the faint laughter of the children in the background, the happy barking of dogs playing in the yard to seep into your mind.

Power and responsibility that we have. The world is in the shape it's in because we haven't stepped up to the plate. So let's step up to the plate. Those running the show have messed it up as bad as they possibly could, time to tell them thanks, but your time is up.

One of the lines in your post is the exact wording of a song from my favorite band (which I definitely feel has a strong place in my future), so I definitely feel I was supposed to read this. The only problem: I have no idea what any of it means. Someone translate, please?

Hanalei, what lyrics in the post were they? I included some from Leonard Cohen, for those who recognize them. Should have used quotes and references i suppose. No translation forthcoming unfortunately. I would attempt to, but i'd rather this thread sink down into the dusty back page archives of the forums to be quickly forgotten. Besides, i think i mentioned there is nothing to get really. Sort of mad man rambling in many ways is all it may be. You be the judge.

Anyways, i hope this thread goes away actually. No more responses from me, it is sort of embarrassing and i do inward face palms thinking about it, as much as i do mean whatever i said (though not sure what i was getting at entirely, nevertheless the overall sentiments of it yes.)

In any case, nothing to see here. Thanks for reading, please forgive my grandiosity or whatever it was.
