Daily Worship
Hi. I'm looking for ways to show my worship and send love/respect to Asatru gods/goddesses. I don't know if I have a patron god, so any of them will do. I try to have deeper conversation and show them my thoughts, but I want some sort of short daily prayer. Some sort of "Good morning" thing to give thanks, I guess. Thank you!

As a catch-all, lucas, just send your thanks to Mother Earth. That covers everything.

A very good book on heathenry is Patricia Lafayllve's Practical Heathen's Guide to Asatru. Her example of a basic blót is
Quote:
Items needed: cup, bowl, and some mead, cider, or beer.
Take a few calming breaths and focus on Freyja [or anyone else, of course]. When you are focused, pour the offering into the cup and make the sign of the hammer over it, saying
- Mighty Mjolnir, Hammer of Thor, bless this drink.
Then toast Freyja three times, taking a sip, pouring a little into the bowl, and saying
- Freyja, Vanadis, Lady, I raise this cup to you in thanks for your many gifts. Hail Freyja!
- Lady of love and laughter, I raise this cup in your honour. Hail Freyja!
- Njord's daughter, Frey's sister, boar rider, I life this cup to you with respect and gratitude in my heart. Hail Freyja!
Pause for thought and then pour the rest of the drink into the bowl, saying
- Freyja, I offer this mead to you. Hail Freyja!
Later you can empty the bowl onto the earth, saying
- From the gods to the earth to us, from us to the earth to the gods: a gift for a gift.

In other words, improvising a rite is pretty simple. Heathen's don't do fancy!

Thanks! That Google map is cool. Not much in my area but looks like there's a group a county or so away.
