Question Your crystal retailer

I have some websites but I wanted to find one with better prices ad more options. What online website do you use to buy crystals, gemstones, and candles?

-p.s. it would be helpful if you could list your favorite book for magick spells, candle magic, and etc.

Thanks for commenting

Commercial Links: These are currently not permitted at SF, however there are several grey areas such as links to forums with free ads, these are ok, and donation buttons are also ok. If you post a link for your forum please return the favour and post one for SF in return. If your forum/website or link sells anything including psychic readings and the like, please do not post it as it will be removed. Persistent posting of the same link will be treated as spamming, one warning will be sent and if it continues a suspension may be imposed.

I buy from a place called the "Peony Silk Road". I use Amazon. I was really impressed with the loving care they put into shipping my purchase. The stone seemed to be as carefully selected for me as if I had chosen it myself. It came with a card describing the stone's uses and virtues, and there was a hand-written thank-you note. I think this retailer understands the needs of people who buy crystals.

I eschew online retailers because some, but not all, tend to be misleading, providing disappointing, sometimes even fake products. Of course this is not always the case. I go to a number of local retailers for my crystals because I know they are real, they offer a large variety, and they're not usually overpriced. Online you have to pay shipping and handling, in most cases. Buying locally, you also know what you are getting first hand, and you have an opportunity to choose the right one for you. You're not at the mercy of the stone being chosen for you. Most stores will also provide you with a piece of paper describing the metaphysical properties of the stone(s) you buy. You also get the benefit of human interaction, and a particular store I go to is very caring of their customers, providing guidance for each customer for every purchase. Sometimes I go there and buy something just for a reading.

If you are a beginner and looking for easy material to provide a basic understanding of magick, look into Scott Cunningham. His books are not very dynamic since he leans towards Wicca, but if that's what you're looking for Cunningham is a good start. Aleister Crowley is good too, though a little more heavy.

If you're looking for serious, heavy reading material (not suggested for a beginner) on magick, I suggest The Golden Dawn. It covers practically everything, but it is useless to an amateur with little understanding. It also takes a rather fit psyche to navigate the pages and understand what is being said. I own a collection titled "Three Books of Occult Philosophy" which is a compilation of work and study by numerous practitioners throughout history. It is the latest and most accurate edition to date and holds some very fascinating information. Again, it is heavy reading material. Also don't forget to pick up 777 & other qabalistic writings by Aleister Crowley for it offers a dictionary-like reference for all kinds of practices. There are numerous paths you can take in your study with magick. Some are more difficult and even dire, while others are easy but the easier magicks tend to rely on exterior forces while ignoring deification of the self. If you're seeking to unlock your inner potential, you're in for a long, hard road and can expect to be challenged every step of the way.

Good luck on your path.
