[quote=sky]Really, I was wondering from where this percentage comes from ?

Luke 17:26--Jesus compares these last days to Noahs day( 99.9% mislead)-today 99% minimum.

One thing I learned from an early age is that my imagination can't always be trusted....

Probably appears in their approved Bible ? My Bible does not have such specific percentages…….:)

No percentage mentioned in Luke, I presume imagination has to be used rather than fact.

I've wondered before why Jesus was so confrontational. Instead of live and let live. Saying various bad things about the Jewish leaders, going into their temple and overturning the tables where they were trying to sell stuff, riding into town on a donkey, which is what kings did. He made a lot of people mad. He could have taken his followers up a mountain in the boonies somewhere and led a quiet life.

God knows 100% what he is doing in all things. Jesus did everything the way he was supposed to do them.

My big realisation with christianity is that it doesn't have to be literal. Discovering Bishop Spong helped me leave behind fundamentalism & have a more accepting view of the world & embracing different philosophies.

Well we agree on that.

PS If you don't know how to use the Quote button, fine...just say for example:

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru

If you take the number of people who did not survive the flood and divide that by the number people that were living then..... you will get a number almost identical to what kiew1 wrote about. To make it easier, rounder the number to the nearest 1/10th
