Let's talk about the importance of the Teacher, Guru.
First, without the Holy Guru you can not fully awaken the Kundalini. This will either take a long time, or an incorrect awakening may occur, leading to damage to the body or, in extreme cases, disability. Secondly, the awakened energy of the Kundalini reveals the chakras, but when the chakra opens, the energy of other dimensions begins to affect us. And if you do not have faith or are too contaminated by the subconscious, you can experience the influence of the low beings of the Astral World. Then you will get a lot of unpleasant experience. You will hear terrible sounds or threatening voices, or low creatures can deceive you by suggesting that you have reached Liberation or become Napoleon, Jesus Christ, Buddha or Supreme God. A dirty subconscious can lead to a split personality - you forget, which from consciousness refers to the physical body. This experience can begin already at the level of Swadhisthana - or Manipur-chakra, and then only the guru will be able to save you and raise you. Thirdly, without a guru, it is often impossible to call Tsandali. Fourthly, without a guru, one can not enter Samadhi. And, finally, only a true guru can answer any questions of the disciple, because he has already passed on this Path.
This path is simple to surprise, but few can pass through it. People do not want to cast off their chains. There are only a few, and let not the departed look back, because for his labors he will be rewarded in full.
