Today - a good day

This morning it was suspected that I had Deep Vein Thrombosis. This afternoon I had an Ultrasound Scan and this was clear. So no need to stop going to the gym.

I've heard of it, does it come on suddenly or is it something that builds up? Glad testing turned out clear for you.

I think it takes a while but it seemed to start when I started the gym - maybe I have overdone the leg presses and popped a tendon or sumting

Norseman if you seem to be in the high risk category for DVT you can cut that risk back enormously by wearing elasticized stockings ... i know ... not the best look especially due to your gender but ... no one will even know you have them on under trousers/jeans etc (except the whole of the SF community lol x)... jokes aside tho, what they actually do is 'force the veins deep within the legs to work more effectively ... and as you probably know those inner veins are the ones that can become clotted. In Australia, every person who undergoes surgery is now advised to wear those stockings for a period of 6 weeks afterwards which is apparently the window of time for DVT to occur. The hospitals even provide the first pair and hassle you no end to keep them on.

If it was proven that wearing Y-Fronts was a preventative measure against some female condition i would have a drawer full hahaha

The suspect leg is where they removed about a yard of vein to make replacement pipes for the quad heart by-pass ten years ago.

The more I think about it, this started with the gym I am sure ***##### treadmill !

Oh ok ... well i haven't had a by-pass, however I have had surgery on my right leg which resulted in quite a substantial amount of vein removed (apologies to those with a weak stomach lol) ... maybe consult with your heart specialist/GP to confirm whether it is safe to wear them first but i bet he will say yes especially when doing high impact cardio vascular exercise ... well done for dealing with the heart surgery just quietly
