Deck cleansing :) What do you think of this way?

I know it's pretty much "if it feels right to you, chances are it's right" but, I'd like to share with you a few ways I'm cleansing my deck.
I practice buddhism, while I appreciate and definitely have been influenced by various forms of paganism, my home resides in buddhist beliefs.
I held my deck and chanted for awhile: "Om Mani Padme Hum~", a chant I've been meditating on and attuning to for a very long time now. At times I chant this mantra while holding an item of some sort and give it away (like a flower or a feather) in hopes it will carry the vibrations of the blessing/chant. I definitely feel it ^_^
So, After chanting holding the whole deck for awhile, I picked them up 1 by 1, put my hand on the deck, chanted once "Om Mani Padme Hum" picked up the top card, stared directly into it perceiving it's essence and picture as I did so as to pay respect to each individual card and chanted "Om Mani Padme Hum" to each one. I went over the whole deck like that while setting them all down neatly in order filling each with a compassionate vibration. I then started over and wiped any dirt or oils off of each card individually repeating the chanting process from before.
Afterwards, I spent a very long time today holding lavender flowers, connecting deeply with them and the universe, meditating: steeping in the loving wholeness of oneness and chanting Om Mani Padme Hum, and did chakra opening meditations so the flowers might also be lifted some :) After which, I held them for a very long time, feeling absolutely radiant and at peace, unmoving and I felt as though I was filling the room with light, I asked the flowers kindly to assist me in purifying the energy of the cards. I picked lavender because I feel like lavender flowers already have a purifying nature, that they're great for cleansing energy.
After I spent a long time throughout the day meditating with the flowers in my hand, I put them in with my deck :) 5 flowers, each flower has 5 petals ^_^
I've never used this deck before, I got it very recently. I'm a firm believer that everything has "an aura" I suppose one could call it.. And that everything deserves respect. So I wanted to show the energy of the deck that I could be faithful to it before I even asked anything of it, I want it to be pure and faithful to me in the future as well :)
In buddhist belief, not only did this chanting assist in the blessing of the energies of the deck and flowers, but also the universe ^_^ this is a thought I enjoy quite a lot.
What do you think? :)

i prefer smudging, it's fast and effective and empowers the deck spiritually.

i'll consider adding some of your methods to mine and see how they go!

hi Smiling Aria,

Your deck cleansing idea sounds like an all day project. Do you always use this method, or was there a special reason you chose to use this versus a different way ?

since they're my wife's cards, we usually only smudge them through the deck-case.

but yes, they smell like smoke when we smudge them singly.

I love to put mine on the windowsill under a full moon, with a crystal on each set.
