This is a spin-off from the tarot school. I got interested in this framework and put this together. It probably needs the rough edges chipping off.
Here is the basic framework :
Tarot Spread for Divination or Meditation
Each element is represented by the appropriate King as the Lord of the power of that element.
So, North - Earth - King of Discs
South - Fire - King of Wands
East - Air - King of Swords
West - Water - King of Cups
Centre - the World Tree which is the "axis mundi" which links all the realms of Being and Knowledge.
You now have a representation of Mother Earth. If you wish to, add an invocation to Mother Earth at this point. Or, if you prefer, you could call the Corners in your usual manner. This will add a Mystery and additional energies.
In divination, draw your cards as usual and place them on the appropriate King.
The Major Arcana needs some thought - some will be obviously elemental in nature [ Lord and Lady = Earth, Sun = Air, Moon = Water, etc], this will be your interpretation. Some will be obviously all-encompassing [ Wheel for example ], place those on the World Tree.
Whatever cards you drew will now be charged with Elemental energies.
As a meditation, set up the framework as before. Choose the element you think you need to work on, sit behind that card and quiet your mind. . Spend sometime studying the image of the card. Close your eyes and picture yourself entering the card.
Picture the card and ask permission of the King to enter. Imagine the border of the card and pass through to the centre. Meditate on the chosen attribute of the element. If your attention wanders, go back to the image of the card.
When you are ready to leave, visualise the King waiting for you. Thank him for his help, turn and walk out through the borders of the card, then open your eyes.
Imagine your negativity travelling to the World Tree and being transformed into positive energy.
For areas to work on, just look at the basic attributes of the minor suits.
Needless to say, you could make this a meditation for four people, each taking a different King.
Attributes of the Minor Suits
Earth Suit : Discs : material things, the physical plane
Fire Suit : Wands : the spirit, the will, creativity, career, vision
Air Suit : Swords : the mind, the intellect, the power of thought to shape your world
Water Suit : Cups : the emotions, intuition, psychic abilities
Thoughts, suggestions, most welcome
