Like everything else in spiritual life, it is difficult to achieve a consistency and continuity in this regard, although as an example that you are probably familiar with, there are quite a few long time Buddhist monks - at least I have met some - who seem to embody this quality. That's not to say they are foolish or naïve (e.g., childish), but that they exemplify a kind of joyful serenity and simplicity, yet wise and discriminating, optimistic - not complicated, convoluted, sophisticated, pretentious, etc.

Thank you for your wonderful comments, as always, Jyotir.

Indeed I have met quite a few Buddhists who exemplify this. I remember distinctly the Light emanating from their being, that subtle joy, humility and life.

Exactly as you say it: a kind of joyful serenity and simplicity, yet wise and discriminating, optimistic

Gautama Buddha was said to have seen a few things before setting out on his quest to enlightenment, death, old age, and an ascetic.

I remember the visitation I had with an old monk in a Buddhist place that set me on a concrete course.

All in all, much appreciation.

On this topic: I am also talking about an experience where a person seems to be more than reclaiming their innocence - it is almost something even more spectacular, but these answers have more than been a gift enough.

Thank you Jyotir, and everyone.

Love understands our cynicism
As the hollow empty pain of our own loss of innocence
Ever behind our eyes as a deep well into which we must pour
The innocence of others.

There is no end to this pain, no end to this longing
Whilst the fear of disappointment clouds our vision
So that we know not what we seek.

Love calls out
Come to me
In my arms let fall the bitter tears
That alone can fill the well.
I will take the sorrow to bathe away the pain
And you my child will be complete again.

Love longing to love and be loved
Does hence
Return
Return to innocence.

Return to innocence. I like that petex.

So since I started this thread, I will share a bit more of my perspective.

True love is innocence and it is divine in nature, and true in form. It seeks nothing except to express love and to return love. It sees All as Self, and knows God when s/he sees it, God is in All, everything is God, but who can see through such a lie?

No it's not a lie. You put your share the favorite as can, and that's all there is
to it, up above takes care of the rest. You look good and feel great saying and Feeling that
god is in us all and that everything is god, I also assume stuff is not your fault.

Lies are created by the one noticing. Love doesn't see lies it sees love.
