Spirit Guide Connection

I have had many important dreams, all of which lucid to some degree and were clearly spiritual in nature. One such dream I was taken by someone to meet my spirit guide. It was a very vivid dream and I remember much of the details. He explained to me my work, or my purpose.

What I wish is for a direct connection in my waking hours. Does anyone have any insight into transitioning from the dreaming state of consciousness to the wakeful state? Not necessarily at the time of the dream. But I am looking for some guidance in meditation, or awareness or conscious intention to create this connection instead of passive participation.

I suggest a meditation format which would involve an imaginary conversation with your guide. You set the intent to connect and listen. Ask questions for insights about the guidance. The idea being to put into action in some way the advice you receive.

That's a good idea. I have not really tried meditation like that, in terms of seeking guidance or direction. My experience has been more about communion in a general sense.

In order to communicate with an entity in a higher dimension (in this case your spirit guide) while you are in a wakeful state (while you are in the beta state --- brain waves 14-40 hz) you will have to do using clairaudience/telepathy... you would have slightly greater probability in the alpha state (brain waves 7.5-14 hz)... Light meditation and the sleeping wave take place in the theta state (4.0-7.5 hz) with meditation in the higher end of that range. I would not really call that brain wave wakeful though. It would be a frequency very slightly higher than when you are asleep in the lucid state. In other words you are semi-conscious. In the theta state you will have the greatest chance of being able to communicate with your spirit guide. There are recordings that have helped some people reach the theta state if you need it. The other way is to do astral projection and visit the akashic records which has each person's book of records (past, present, and future).

Thank you wolfmanthe1st. I read up a little on theta waves based on what you said. I believe there is something to that because of the intense energy focused on the crown of my head and throughout my spine at each instance of lucid dreaming and contact with a couple of spirit guides. I know that the chakra was activated during these experiences. From what I've read theta wave activation through visualization is centered around or goes through the crown of the head. So this is a great direction for me to explore.
