Haven't had those experiences in decades.
Back then, it was a major challenge.

Thumbs up "NEW WORLD"

I suspect when we were in our Mother's womb, the darkness provided the means for us to journey 'out of body'.

When we were 'born', this 'World' was so much different then the World we had explored that we 'forgot' what we had previously 'learned' and immediately started devoting our time surviving in this 'New World'.

I'm sorry, Starman, you know I love ya...but I disagree with this.
Our brains are exactly set up to exp the Spiritual Realms and were made for intimacy with God Himself...
whatever concept one has - an Eternal Spirit, internal/external, the All That Is..Krishna...doesn't matter, from my experience.

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru

We have tests to pass in this life and if we remembered our past lives then we would know the answers. So maybe that’s why we have the memory erased.

Just a thought.

If you contemplate God long enough, something surprising happens in the brain; neural functioning begins to change
and different circuits become activated, while others become deactivated.
New dendrites are formed, new synaptic connections are made, and the brain becomes more sensitive to subtle realms of experience.
Perceptions alter, beliefs begin to change, and if God has meaning for you, then God becomes neurologically real.

-Said by a neuroscientist

Why is not obvious then for most people?
I think Starman makes a good point. What if we were to see a completely new colour? You can't describe it. You just can't.

Personally if I had remembered even just my last lifetime, I would have never interacted with some people in this one, given what "has been done" to me in the last life. But I think it would be "spoilers" of some sort, and we would veer off course. I'm not really adamant on destiny or anything like that, but there is definitely something there. It's like at some point when you connect the dots you just can't deny some things happen for a reason, seemingly leading you by the nose. And I do not remember much from the last life, just snippets here and there that I didn't really ask for.

Although.. I would have regretted not interacting with these specific people.

DO we forget the past or is it that our brains' memory predominates in incarnate life - at least for most of us?

Our memories are said to be recorded chemically in our brains. If we experienced previous lives, any memories of those times could not have been recorded in the same way that memories are recorded now.

Past life memories will be recorded in our psyches (to a greater or lesser degree) and someone sensitive is more likely to be able to access them than someone who is not psychically-sensitive.

That's always a good question.
You'd have to know the Mind of God - or God's Plan, I'd say.
Better to exp this for yourself -rather than have someone tell you why, imo.
But, wait, (I get people mixed up), maybe you don't believe in a Creator.
If so, then that would be hard.
