I am not an astral projector right now, but I could become one in the future. I might look into astral projection and learning about my spirit guides once I've opened up my chakras and I'm used to having them open.
Working with chakras is actually a new hobby of mine. I got into it when someone suggested I listen to binaural beats to help me meditate. They don't help with the meditation process, but I ended up getting into chakras that way. I actually didn't know I was interested in chakras until that point.
For some reason, meditation doesn't come easily to me.

I know nothing of chakras and am very close to being able to astral project. Meditation comes very naturally to me. In fact, I can close my eyes almost anywhere and tuneout my surroundings and feel as though I am somewhere else. I am not trying to come across as boastful, just trying to give some encouragement. You see, we all learn different ways.
