A book of the bible I never paid much attention to
Uninterested and
Unsure of what it even was

But then I discovered Chana Bloch's new translation

You don't have to be christian or jewish to love it
It is a biblical book like no other

Her translation is not a loose new-agey interpretation about sex
It is a more accurate translation of the aramaic
Keeping true to its original intention as poetry
And Not ignoring it for what it is obviously about
Sex

It reveals the song for its fantastical middle eastern lyricism
Both sensual and divine
A masterpiece of ecstatic love poetry
Akin to the works of Rumi

I suggest that anyone here
With any interest in poetry
