Need advice for a friend

My friend who wants to get more into the spirtual side but no matter what i tell her she won't meditate. She wants to get a hold of her guide but wont meditate because she cant keep a calm mind. Shes only tried once and that was it, i keep telling her the more you do it the easier it will be, you brain is a muscle and it needs to be worked as well..is there anyone here that could help her get in contact with her guide that wouldn't use meditation or do you have any advice as to how to help her get past the troubles she's having while mediating.

with my experience, it takes time to learn to meditate for long enough. I would suggest, in order to clear her mind a bit, to do what is called "automatic writing". Basically, just get some paper and a pen or pencil and just write anything and everything that comes to your mind. But no matter what, even if there's nothing in your mind, you have to write. you can just write "i dont have anything to say" or "im bored". Whatever it is. And do this for about five to ten minutes until you really have 'de-cluttered' your mind. Then maybe try right after that to meditate. Best of luck!

A lot of people are against what they know is good for them because they are afraid of changing for the better. They are afraid that this new 'self' will replace the old 'self' and that this mysterious newness will come with responsibilities that one will not be able to fulfill.

Meditation is powerful and can change a person, completely. She must be, in some way, aware of this.

You can't force a person to meditate when they are not ready. She won't be able to do it properly unless she WANTS to.

In my experience, the best way to get through to a person is directly. Ask her, point blank... are you afraid of meditating? Are you afraid of being changed? Are you afraid of who you will become, of what will be required of you? Are you afraid of disappointing others, of disappointing your guide? Are you afraid of TRYING?

Tell her that, instead of meditating, she should just sit quietly and think about why she doesn't want to meditate... think about why she is afraid of meditating. Ask her to imagine what she would be like if she meditated and to imagine that she became her perfect self.

Then tell her that she just meditated successfully.

Not everyone finds it easy to meditate.ome cant quiten their mind enough,so practising is not going to work, without some help litening to a calming cd while trying to meditate may help.the sounds of the ocean is a popular choice.for myself i listen to my native music, but find what suits and try that,

I am the same way and I use a pendulum for yes or no answers with my guides. You can also print out an alphabet chart and find out their name.
I hold a pendulum (can be something as simple as a needle and a thread) over my palm and ask it to show me yes, then to show me no and finally to show me " I don't know". Each one will be different and you get pretty accurate answers. To test it, first ask questions that you know the answers to like "is the sky green" or "is my name blah blah".
I also ask for my guide to help me with something I have a hard time with like a money flow or certain aspects of my life and overtime I see a difference big time.
Good luck. Hope your friend tries it.

you could start her off with mantra, repeating divine names/sounds such as aum namo shivaya, or aum krishna hare, this might be a good way to start. Having said that, until she realises that it is her ego, the real enemy, that wont let her try to meditate , you wont be able to do anything for her. Some people are not ready yet, and thats ok, she will go for it when she is

In order to hear our Guides we have to stop the mind, it is in the silence that we hear them speak.
It might be a long journey for her to give herself the permission to meditate, any calming activity will help in the meantime to prepar her for meditation, long walks, martial arts, listening to calming music and staring into a fire or candle light, yoga, laps in a swimming pool, petting a cat, doing artwork, writing, binuaral beats....
