Stone Identification

If anyone recognises this stone, I'd very much appreciate knowing what it is.

Hello Squatchit,
I cannot see from the photograph whether it is displaying any chatoyancy..so I don't think it's a dyed tiger eye and it's too bright for a blue tiger eye IMO...could be a dyed agate though. It feels a little too exuberant to be a Dumorterite... I think I'll play it safe and opt for dyed agate  ....Or Sapphire.. No , I'm sticking with dyed Agate.. Not considering blue calcite or blue tanzanite either.... So it might be Blue Dyed Agate....err definately possibly.. |

From one stoner to another... my best guess is that it is soldalite or perhaps a dyed piece of agate.
One way you can check to is to hold it up to a bright light. If it is translucent is is likely agate.

EDIT: Interestingly, the actual stone is more black & white than blue. The middle stripe is a reddish-brown which runs all the way round. It's not jet black, nor brilliant white. Almost a mottled black and a very very pale lavender. Not sure whether that helps much...but it's definitely not blue. No idea what the scanner was playing at... |

I haven't heard of Agate Eye - having googled it, it certainly looks like a possibility. In a strange sort of way, the name sort of fits with a couple of dreams I had the other night (when I deliberately placed said stone under my pillow). Both dreams involved a being that was three-in-one. So if the Agate Eye is my "third" eye...and I'm now seeing three-in-one..........who knows!
