Psychologists? They're more malignant than estate agents! I read a couple of sentences and thought, uh-oh, they're at it again!

Highly paid wafflers!!!

Look at the opening para. What it's saying is what we all know - new romance is nice, thrilling. What a revelation! (Perhaps it is, in this decade!)
Nothing wrong with clingy partners unless you want a complete open, free-for-all relationship with everything you can get between your... no I shouldn't say that.
Problem comes when one of the partners wants out. Otherwise of course they cling. It isn't much of a partnership otherwise. Well done, shrinks!

Dont take it as full truth, take it as it is. Someone is saying something. Its their right, its their point of view. Take what you need from that article and then search more.

I think that healthy relationships are made when people like to talk Like they say, sharing is caring!
