Where is MY Soul Mate?

Several years ago, and not too long after my spiritual awakening, I read a great deal about soulmates and twin flames.

I was one who never really felt that I had encountered my soul mate in this lifetime. It was just a feeling that I had, not any real confirmation of that fact.

I seemed to relate well to the old Beatles song - "I Will". Here is a line from that song - "for if I ever saw you, I didn't catch your name..."

But at one point in all of this contemplation, I recall breaking down in tears, in complete despair, asking the divine - where is my soul mate? For a while, I just sat there in utter abject despair.

And then, suddenly I felt a powerful loving and warm feeling and presence envelop me. It was so powerful, and so loving, it immediately transmuted my prior feelings of separation.

It was a transmutation that has largely stayed with me to this very day.

Yes, probably true. But I still search for reasons from time to time, given my insatiable desire to seek new understanding.

I have been wondering if it might have something to do with a decision made in regards to this lifetime, and that decision was to make this the lifetime to (for want of better words), reach enlightenment.

Perhaps my soul mate had to step back to allow this to happen for me. It might be interesting to know, of those who have decided upon integration in this lifetime, if they too are without their soul mates.
