What was the specific number of those that did not survive ?

I guess if the number that did not survive was greater then 8000, I would say kiev was accurate.

I do not know of any religions that believes in the Great Flood claims the number that died during that event was less then 8000.

But then, if you find a religion that says that it was a lot smaller number, then was it really a Great Flood?

So far, kiew1's percentage seems to be the only 'number' oresented and it seems plausable to me.

No one knows how many lived in Noahs day or died by the flood. 8 mortals survived=99.9% mislead to death. Noah was 600 years old when the flood hit. There were way more than 8000 humans at that point.

Where does the 99.9% mislead figure come from if no one knows ? Lots of speculation/imagination also regarding the idea that only 8 mortals survived. Where did all the different races of people come from....

OT says that 'humanity' that was wiped out was genetically different and their mind was not up to good.

I would 'imagine' if Noah and his family repopulated the world there would be even more genetic problems because of all the interbreeding which would obviously have affected their minds....
No mention of this in the OT....
