I would personally just refuse to engage with the bully. If you have an ignore feature on the forum, use that. Otherwise just don’t respond to their posts. In my experience such people most often have incredibly strong defence systems to hide how fragile they really feel- and so anything you say is likely to be twisted around and used to reaffirm the bully’s power over you. My advice- don’t engage, don’t get drawn into more conversation. See the bully as he or she is- someone in a very dark place and using people like you to feel better about themselves. It’s nothing personal to you at all. Don’t play their game.

It sounds like you would benefit from working on your self esteem so that issues like this no longer affect you so much on a personal level.
