What Crystals Want

Fascinated by this thread. It is good to remember to ask crystals what they want. I bought myself a display cabinet for my collection and was pleased that it had glass doors because I live in rural Australia and it is very dusty and I wanted to keep the dust off them. Of course the crystals didn't like being behind the glass so now I have to leave the doors open and just dust them as often as I can. They need to be able to breathe.

It's good to keep a two way communication going with your crystals as they are living things. We are told to 'program' them and use them for our own gains much as you would use an appliance, but they have their own ideas on how they will help you and it's more a case of co-operation rather than ordering the crystal around.

I find each crystal different, even if it is the same type. Books will say 'calcite is good for X' but I find maybe one piece of calcite is, but another piece is good for something else.

Nail...head...you! Crystals have their own properties, so the most one can 'program' is by asking them to use one energy for one purpose, providing that energy is part of their being :) It's like forcing a child to be a doctor, when they want just to be a pig farmer!

That's so funny that you can't close the glass door, I've noticed that as well, they don't like to be suffocated. Dusting them isn't as bad a chore, though, hmm? It's so nice watching them shine when they get cleaned up. Though, I'll have to try the cotton and palo sticks that have been suggested when storing them in a closed area, I'm sure that'll help :)

Lovely! And yes, the same type can feel so very different.

I am still new to all this, so I just tried to communicate to my amethyst and while I am not exactly sure what was said I think it responds and really helps. So thank you for that reminder!
Are there any tips for that sort of communication?

I would also like to know how to communicate with them better. I have felt great attraction to them and have seen how they attract attention, but other than that they have been mostly art pieces I have appreciated. I do feel I am just starting to tap into their potential and metaphysical benefits. Of course I am sure I benefit from their properties just having them around. As I have stated before I collect them for their beauty, but I am interested in learning of other things about them as well.

I am with Crystal Canuck. I have collected many crystals from online sources, mainly because of what I read of their properties. I would dearly love to have a two way relationship with them like many lucky people on here.
Does anyone have any helpful ideas to suggest?

I can only speak for what works with me and mine, meditation just lets me use their energy, but speaking with them and listening to what they're saying just requires focusing on them. I just look at them like I'm trying to look into their soul, just like a connection with a person, but ya know, not as creepy as it sounds.

Once you feel that connection, you can speak with your mind, just think a thought and they will answer you...but with thoughts, not exactly words! Like, you'll just know what they're asking for! My pyrite chunk likes to feel a loving energy and likes to be petted, and in return it gives me protection.

Try this, hold a stone you feel strong energy from, it'll be easier. LOL Crystal_canuck you have a lot of large ones, so you can just sit near one. Then, connect with the energy and just focus all your thoughts on that crystal and listen with your mind, keep an open mind, and it should start letting you know what it wants.

I have a natural draw toward crystals, so I can feel when 'someone' is calling to me...haven't been able to suss out the one quickly yet because there are too many on one surface, but it's like a feeling like when you have a connection with a person and you just know they're thinking about you or talking about you! You know that feeling?

I have no real input but this thread is immensely interesting! :) Certain stones just seem to call to me, even if they look no different from their fellows, but I have no clue what any of my crystals want from me. I'd love to build a good rapport with them.
