Lynx to be introduced.
A scheme is being considered for the introduction in several areas, mostly in Scotland but also in NORTHUMBERLAND - Kielder Forest [YIPPEE !] The aim is to control the deer population which is getting out of hand. It is estimated that the scheme would generate £66m in tourism, rural jobs, and improve crop yields and woodland management by keeping down deer.

Could they not do some deer contraceptives instead. The though of a gentle herbivore getting ripped up does not appeal to me. They'd probably end up attacking sheep anyway, being penned and much slower; they'd be sitting ducks.

I share your concern, Noble Knight. Human rapid expansion, hunting creatures to extinction, ruining natural habitats, etc. caused wolves and lynxes to disappear. We meddled once then, but the world has moved on. Lynxes have been absent from the UK for 1300 years. Now we want to meddle a second time.
Two wrongs don't make a right. Deer are gentle creatures and their numbers could easily be controlled by more effective methods than being ripped apart in terrible pain.
