People should not worry as much about what they do but rather about what they are. If they and their ways are good, then their deeds are radiant. If you are righteous, then what you do will also be righteous. We should not think that holiness is based on what we do but rather on what we are, for it is not our works which sanctify us but we who sanctify our works.

Being who you are is much easier than being who your not, that involves pretence.

Why do you need to ' stamp your color on the mast ' ?

"Know Yourself" is indeed often mentioned by the wise!

Being who you are is NOT much easier than being who you're not ... INITIALLY .... as there is much undoing to do for most beings.

Eventually, however, being who you are is quite natural and effortless and indeed "much easier than being who you are not".

Being who your not is only a cover for being who you are
Your true essence is unchangeable regardless of your thoughts or actions.

This reminds me of the Biblical quote from Matthew 5:15 ("No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house.")

May I ask what you personally found most effective in removing that "cover" and discovering your "true essence" ? Does your "Light" shine through continuously?

My light definitely does NOT shine through continuously, it hasn't got enough power
Personally I find working on and trying to understand Ego is most effective for me. I don't believe you need to eliminate it but rather to control it before it controls you or becomes the Master....
