I love everyone's replies to the Thread, thanks.
I'd like to think that my fictional Extraterrestrial/Human version soulmate along with our Hybrid 4 children exist.

Very interesting question, and yes, I think you’re right. I kind of believe that characters we write about are channellings from our inner wisdom (as story ideas often are) and so they must exist somewhere. They are either us living out a past-life memory in some way, or they could be our higher self’s way of showing us what may be possible.
At the moment I am coming to the end of writing a long novel which is very autobiographical. Some of the characters are based on people I have met before, but with embellishments to their personalities. One of them though is very interesting.
The main character intends an ideal girlfriend, and eventually meets and gets with her. At the start, she was based upon a girl I used to work with who I was very keen on, but since then, the character has developed a lot in my mind. I have added numerous things about her, and they have come to me in such detail, and with such clarity, that she actually feels like a real person.
These thoughts have come to me often over the past couple of years (I call them ‘undeliberate thoughts’ and they have also come to me about other things than love and girlfriends) and I am thinking that this is my higher self’s way of telling me something. It’s like it’s saying “ Neil, you have never had a relationship before, but an ideal one is possible, and here is what it could be like. “
(In the story, the girl is fun, beautiful, intelligent, dynamic, generous, loving, humorous, considerate, open-minded, respects personal space, and desires personal growth and development. That to me sounds like the ideal relationship)
But through other themes in the story, it is also showing me what is blocking this from happening, and what needs to be done to remove those blocks.
As for your other question: do my characters love or hate me for this? There could be numerous answers to this.
The ‘baddies’ won’t like me for how they live, but they aren’t very nice people anyway. The ‘goodies’ certainly will, because I have placed them in optimal circumstances. And then there is the area in the middle because certain characters are redemption figures. So they may start off bad and dislikable, but then change their attitudes during the story (or transcend a limitation) and become much more positive as a result.

I had a cassette of interviews with JRRTolkien where he claimed all his characters were pure fiction, imagination, (Maybe they did come out of his subconscious but he was unaware of it . perhaps that is the best way for a story writer?)

There's a film by John Carpenter which touches on this subject, it's called in the mouth of madness. It's on youtube for free. I had a very strange syncronistic experience with that film lol
I happen to like Prince, I didn't really get on to how good he was until after he passed away because my sister was really into when were kids, and I was into heavier type music, so I didn't realize how good he actually was.
I started listening to his stuff after he passed away and I was amazed how good he was.
I like these tunes from Prince
Empty room, live version and his cover of radiohead. Solo on both are superb, also his solo on while my guitar gently weeps.

I love Empty room, Prince's cover of I Can't make you love me. Its never to late to become a fan of a artist . I honestly was never a fan or even casual listener of Prince because I pefered Michael.

We grew up on Jacko like it was a religion... lol craziest thing is, Prince was more of a complete artist but Jacko in his prime was something really special.
Both spoke out about how this realm was corrupted. Rightly so too.

Both Michael 1958-2009 and Prince 1958-2016 (R.I.P) both spoke about the crooked industry, they both were activist.
